This scented candle is dedicated to the dog lovers who know and appreciate the comfort in their scent. A tribute to the special bond with our little loves, our furry best friends and companions. To the joyful pitter-patter and tail wagging welcoming you every day. To cuddles on the couch and little paws that smell of corn chips, popcorn and musk, their tiny imprint forever on your heart.

- Chorizo is a 4 year old chocolate and tan short hair mini dachshund with a playful, loving personality. His favorite things are playing with his wiffle ball, getting cuddles and sitting by his papa's side while he's developing scents, researching architecture and perfume history and working on emails. His joy and companionship are hard to match, and we wanted to pay tribute to the olfactive imprint of his presence in our lives.

- Why do dog's paws dog’s paws to smell liker corn chips or popcorn? Turns out, it's totally normal. In most cases, the savory scent emanating from dogs’ feet comes from bacteria and yeast. In some quantity, these are totally supposed to be there. Dogs control their body temperature by panting, not sweating. “Since they don’t perspire, the only place dogs have to cool down is on the bottom of their feet,” explains Dr. Amy Attas, VMD. She emphasizes that the “Fritos smell is completely normal” and doesn’t mean that your dog has a bacterial or fungal infection.

- This scented candle was created with celebrated perfumer Stephen Nislen, himself a dog owner. When we explained what we wanted to do, he understood the brief exactly. In fact, the first iteration of the scent was totally accurate, so we decided to tone it down with a contrasting background of high-quality, sophisticated notes like orris butter and ylang-ylang. The final scent’s irreverent salty notes of corn chips and popcorn contrast with the soft vanilla, comforting orris butter and musky background that is perfectly familiar, while remaining utterly soothing, and surprisingly elegant. 

- We've made this candle as a tribute to the joy our little loves bring us. We hope you smile when you light it, and it brings some of their comfort, home.
